The BART car project is a very interesting one. BART is the Bay Area Rapid Transit System. It is essentially a New York City subway but unique because the system is interactive. People who ride the BART log into the website and record what car they rode as well as the date and time they traveled. They can make comments about the condition of the car and quality of the commute.

For more information visit the BART Car Project site.

Tenderloin is a section of San Francisco. While it is known somewhat for the rich history, it is also known as being a densely populated area with a large homeless community. To learn more about Tenderloin, click here.

The Bay Guardian is a weekly free alternative newspaper.

According to Wikipedia the Bay Guardian is known as a left-wing newspaper. This would be the type of article that the Bay Guardian thrives off of.

I did not know that turning off the radio on your cell phone would prevent the phone from being tracked. Apparently you can do this by putting your phone in Flight Mode, Airplane Mode, or changing the phone setting to Standalone.

Waterboarding was recently banned by President Barack Obama in January. The CIA is reported to have used this torture technique as recent as 2007.

The Bush Administration claims that valuable information was obtained from waterboarding, and helped prevent an attacks. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I would probably say whatever they wanted me to say to make them stop torturing me. Apparently some CIA officials agree with me.
